My work has been placed in Inova Schar Cancer Institute!

I was excited early in 2026 when local art consultant Lauren Heller purchased two of my large-scale monotypes from last summer. When I later learned what they were for, I was moved and so proud: they are part of a large-scale installation of art that Lauren created for Inova Schar Cancer Institute’s Stem Cell Transplant area in Fairfax, Virginia.

Through this art installation, Lauren curated uplifting, colorful artworks from local artists that are more than just pretty decor: as part of a thoughtfully designed environment that reduces stress, they are part of the healing process.

This touches my heart deeply both as a cancer survivor who visited spaces like these every month for five years and also as the adult child of a parent who has recently been diagnosed with cancer. :’-( I’m happy to think that these two monotypes are lifting the spirits of patients and their loved ones as they endure stressful times.

Here are some photos that Lauren kindly shared with me:

I’m a big believer in the power of art to create a positive environment. I hope my art will be in more healthcare installations in the future. If you’re an art consultant, please get in touch—I’d love to share my work with you for consideration on future proposals.
